Junk Removal Division & Clinton

Junk Removal on
Division & Clinton

Portland's busiest restaurant row, built over a wall of new skinny-infill apartments and condos with older bungalows and Clinton walk-ups tucked behind. The work here splits two ways: fresh move-in debris — the boxes, foam, and packaging that come with a new place — and the turnover when a lease ends and the old furniture has to come down the stairs. We clear either one flat from a photo, same day when we can, with no stair fee and no Oregon sales tax.

The infill corridor: new move-ins meet old walk-ups

Division Street through 97202 and 97214 is one of the most transformed stretches in Portland — a decade of "skinny" infill apartments and condos dropped in among the bungalows, anchored by a dense strip of restaurants, bars, and cafés that draws young professionals and food lovers from across the city. Clinton, a block south, keeps its quieter mix of older houses and no-elevator walk-ups. That combination sets up the two jobs we do here. The first is move-in debris: someone signs a lease or closes on a new condo, everything arrives boxed and wrapped, the furniture gets assembled, and suddenly the unit is buried in flattened cardboard, foam corners, plastic wrap, and the odd piece of contractor leftover from a just-finished build. We haul all of it in one trip.

The second is turnover. In a corridor this transient, leases end constantly, and a move-out means the couch, the mattress, and whatever the last tenant abandoned have to come out — often down the stairs of an older Clinton walk-up with no elevator. We do the carrying, and there's no per-flight fee, because the flat price already assumes the stairs. Whether you're a new arrival drowning in packaging or a renter clearing a unit on your way out, it's the same deal: send a photo, get one flat number covering the labor, the carry, the drive, and disposal — and no tax line, because Oregon doesn't charge one.

What we haul on Division & Clinton

  • New-build move-in debris — flattened boxes, foam, wrap, and packaging cleared in one trip.
  • Walk-up apartment turnover — whole-unit clears carried down the stairs, no surcharge.
  • Left-behind furniture — the couch, mattress, and odds and ends a previous tenant left.
  • Single-piece hauls — a sofa or a mattress out of a fourth-floor unit without you lifting it.
  • Condo & bungalow declutter — a room's worth of stuff, cleared flat from a photo.
  • Appliances — old fridges and washers swapped out of the new units, freon handled.

Move-in day, minus the cardboard mountain

Nobody warns you that a good move ends in a bad mess. By the time the last box is unpacked and the flat-pack furniture is assembled, a new Division apartment can hold more packaging than furniture — and the building's recycling room won't take that volume, and the bins overflow after one household. That's the job we're quietly best at: one crew, one trip, the whole pile of cardboard, foam, and plastic wrap gone, sorted so the clean cardboard actually gets recycled. A small load lands at the $75 minimum; a big closing-week haul usually prices as a quarter truck at $241. Send a photo of the stack and you'll have the flat number before you've broken down another box.

Faster than the city curbside pickup

The city will take bulky items, but its program isn't built for a move-in or a lease-end rush. Portland's bulky-waste pickup is curbside-only, priced per item at an $18 trip fee plus $6–$51 an item, and it can take up to seven days — and it won't touch your cardboard-and-foam move-in pile at all, only qualifying bulky pieces you drag to the curb yourself. On a transient corridor where you need the unit clear before the next tenant or before your deposit's on the line, waiting a week isn't the plan. We come same day when we can, carry it out of the unit and down the stairs, take the packaging the city won't, and hand you one flat price with no tax.

Where it goes after we load it

On a corridor this eco-conscious, "where does it go?" is a fair question, and we have a real answer. Clean cardboard and recyclable packaging get recycled, not dumped. Usable furniture and household goods go to Goodwill of the Columbia Willamette, Community Warehouse, or Habitat's ReStore, with a donation receipt if you want one. Mattresses and box springs are recycled free under Oregon's stewardship program, TVs and computers go to Oregon E-Cycles at no charge, and metal appliances get recycled. Diverting all of it keeps our disposal cost down — which is part of why the flat price stays flat.

What Division & Clinton customers say

★★★★★

"Moved into a new build on Division and the packaging was insane — boxes to the ceiling, foam everywhere. They cleared the whole pile in one trip, recycled the cardboard, flat price from a photo. My recycling room could never."

— Hannah C., Division
★★★★★

"Last tenant left a couch and a mattress in my Clinton walk-up. No elevator, second floor. They carried both down the stairs same day, no stair fee, exactly the quote. Got my deposit sorted."

— Trevor M., Clinton
★★★★★

"Downsized into a skinny condo off SE Division and had a whole room of furniture to lose. Quoted flat from photos, done in an afternoon, and no sales tax to tack on at the end. Easy."
