Pricing
How is my price calculated?
From your photos. Each item is matched to our published Portland list and added up, and you see the total before booking. Missed something? Send another photo and the total updates.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, $75. A single sofa at $126 is already above it.
Do basements, attics or walk-ups cost more?
No. The price is the same on the ground floor, down in the basement or three flights up.
Does same-day pickup cost more?
No. If a crew can come today, it’s the same price as next week.
When does pricing by the truckload make sense?
For basements, garages and whole houses. The truck holds sixteen cubic yards, from $241 for a quarter of it to $732 for all of it, and every quote compares that with item pricing.
Tax in Oregon and Washington
Do Oregon customers pay sales tax on junk removal?
No. Oregon has no sales tax, so there’s no tax line on Oregon jobs.
Why is there a tax on Vancouver, WA jobs?
Washington charges a 3.6% solid-waste collection tax on hauling services (RCW 82.18). It isn’t a sales tax, and it applies to jobs in Clark County only.
Booking and Pickup Day
How soon can someone come?
Frequently within a day, sometimes the same afternoon if you book in the morning. You choose from open windows on the quote page.
Does someone need to be home?
No. Leave items in an open garage, or share a lockbox or door code, and you’ll get photos afterward.
Who does the hauling?
Vetted, insured local crews working through JunkRabbit. You deal with us from quote to payment.
Can I book if I rent?
Yes. Unlike the city program, you don’t need your landlord to arrange it.
What We Haul
Can you take old paint cans?
Yes, priced separately because of the handling: $30 for a gallon can and $52 for a five-gallon bucket.
What do you do with TVs and computers?
They go to electronics recyclers through Oregon’s E-Cycles program — see our electronics page.
Do you donate usable things?
Yes, donation is the first stop for furniture and housewares in good shape. The rest is recycled or taken to a licensed transfer station.
Do you remove hot tubs and pianos?
Yes — a hot tub is $322 and an upright piano $290.
Portland’s Bulky Pickup
Who can use Portland’s bulky-waste pickup?
Houses, duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes, through the franchised garbage company for the address. Apartment residents are told to contact their property manager, and renters need their landlord to request it.
How far ahead do I need to schedule it?
The city asks for at least a week’s notice, and items shouldn’t go on the curb until the scheduled day.
Do suburbs and Clark County have the same program?
No. Suburban cities and Clark County work with their own haulers and rules, so check with yours. See the full comparison and our service areas.
