Junk Removal Northwest Portland
Junk Removal in
Northwest Portland
Two neighborhoods in one. Down in Nob Hill and the Alphabet District, it's dense 1900s walk-up apartments and old Victorians with no elevator — so we carry the couch, the mattress, and the rest down the stairs, and there's no surcharge for it. Up the hill toward Forest Park, it's grand estates on long, steep drives — handled with white-glove care, floors and landscaping protected. One flat photo-quoted price either way, same-day when we can, and no Oregon sales tax.
Walk-ups below, estates up the hill
Northwest Portland (97210, 97209) has a split personality, and the junk work follows it. Down on the flat — Nob Hill and the lettered streets of the Alphabet District — the housing is early-1900s: three- and four-story no-elevator walk-up apartments and carved-up Victorians, with high renter turnover and the NW 23rd retail spine running through it. When a lease ends, the sofa and the mattress have to come down two or three flights of stairs, out a narrow stairwell, and onto a street where parking is already scarce. That carry-down is the everyday job here, and unlike a lot of haulers, we don't tack on a per-flight fee — the flat price already assumes the stairs.
Then the land tilts. Climb toward Forest Park and the NW Hills and the walk-ups give way to large estates on long, steep, winding driveways. The job changes with the address: now it's a downsizing or a generational clear-out where discretion, floor protection, and careful handling of good furniture matter more than speed. We do both — the fast third-floor move-out and the careful hillside estate — off the same simple promise: send photos, get a flat number that covers the labor, the drive, and the disposal, with no hourly meter and no tax line at the end.
What we haul across Northwest
- Walk-up move-outs — whole-apartment clears carried down the stairs; couch, mattress, dresser, and the leftover boxes, in one trip.
- Single-item stair carry-downs — one heavy piece out of a third-floor unit without you touching it.
- NW Hills estate & downsizing cleanouts — discreet, careful, floors and landscaping protected, usable pieces donation-routed with receipts.
- Furniture & antiques — awkward, heavy Victorian-era pieces navigated down tight stairwells.
- Appliances — fridges, washers, and dryers pulled from the basement or the back porch, freon handled on coolers.

The access we plan around
Down in Nob Hill, the constraints are stairwells and the street. The walk-ups have tight, turning staircases that a sectional won't clear in one piece, so we break pieces down where we have to, pad the corners, and work around the scarce parking and the busy NW 23rd retail loading zones — we plan the truck's approach so we're not blocking a lane while we carry. Up in the hills, it's the opposite problem: long, steep driveways, narrow turnarounds, and homes where the last thing anyone wants is a scuff on a hardwood floor or a rut in the landscaping. We stage carefully, protect the path, and load from wherever the piece lives — you never drag anything to the road.
