Why not the city bulky-waste pickup?
The city will take some bulky items, but its program asks a lot of you. Portland's bulky-waste pickup is curbside-only, priced per item at an $18 trip fee plus $6–$51 an item, and it can take up to seven days — and you have to drag everything out to the curb yourself, in English, through an online request or a phone line. For a full basement or garage, the per-item fees add up, the wait repeats, and the heavy lifting is all yours.
