Junk Removal Alberta Arts, King & Concordia

Junk Removal on
Alberta Arts, King & Concordia

The Alberta Street arts corridor and the King, Vernon, and Concordia blocks around it (97211, 97212) — bungalows and Foursquares in the heart of historic Albina, some long held by Black families, some newly changing hands. Two kinds of work live here: generational-home downsizing that has to be handled with real respect, and the basement, storefront, and ADU-prep clear-outs that come with a fast-changing neighborhood. Flat photo-quoted price, donation-routed, and no Oregon sales tax.

One street, two kinds of cleanout

Alberta is one of Portland's most distinctive corridors — a mile of galleries, shops, and food along NE Alberta Street running through the historically Black Albina district, wrapped in the bungalow-and-Foursquare blocks of King, Vernon, and Concordia. It's a neighborhood in transition, and the junk work reflects that. On one side are generational homes — houses that families, many of them Black families, have held for decades — where a downsizing or an estate cleanout is a tender, significant thing. On the other are the clear-outs of a changing street: new owners emptying a basement, a storefront turning over on Alberta, a garage cleared to make room for an ADU.

We do both, and we're mindful of the difference. A generational-home clear-out gets patience and respect — a pace that lets a family sort what matters, the good pieces set aside and donation-routed with a receipt, nothing rushed. A basement or storefront turnover gets speed and a clean flat price. Either way, you get one number quoted from photos, everything carried out by us, and no sales tax on the total, because Oregon doesn't charge it.

What we haul on Alberta

  • Generational-home downsizing & estate cleanouts — handled with care and patience, good pieces donated with receipts.
  • Bungalow & Foursquare basement cleanouts — full basements and attics through King, Vernon, and Concordia, carried up the stairs.
  • Alberta Street storefront & gallery turnover — fixtures, shelving, and display furniture cleared between tenants.
  • New-owner move-in clear-outs — emptying what the last owner left in the basement, garage, and back rooms.
  • ADU-prep clears — a basement, garage, or old backyard cottage emptied so a build can begin.

Downsizing a family home, done right

Clearing a home that's been in a family for generations isn't a job you rush. On King and Concordia especially, these are houses full of a family's history, and the people making the decisions are often carrying a lot more than boxes. We slow down for that: we work at the family's pace, keep aside whatever they want to hold onto, and route the usable furniture and goods to Goodwill, Community Warehouse, or Habitat's ReStore with a donation receipt rather than sending them to a dumpster. Nothing gets tossed carelessly, nothing gets staged at the curb for the block to see. It's the respect the work deserves — and the price is still one honest flat number, quoted up front, with no tax added.

Where it goes after

This corner of NE cares deeply about where things end up, and diversion is both the right thing and part of how we keep the price fair. Usable furniture and household goods are donation-routed with receipts; mattresses and box springs are recycled free under Oregon's stewardship program; TVs, monitors, and computers go to Oregon E-Cycles at no charge; and old appliances get their metal recycled after freon recovery. When we clear a basement or garage to make way for an ADU, the same rules apply — we keep as much out of the landfill as we can, and the flat price reflects the lower disposal cost.
